Webster J. Weiss, 84, of Racine, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
He was born in the town of Addison on May 31, 1917, to the late William and Catherine (nee Beistle) Weiss, and had been a Racine resident since 1942.

On May 21, 1940, he was united in marriage to Margaret Jane Walter at Holy Angels Church, West Bend.
Webster was employed by J.I. Case Co. from 1935 to 1960, and by S.G.L. Abrasives Co. from 1960 until retiring in 1985.

He was a member of St. Joseph' Catholic Church, Serra Club and Holy Name Society.

He was an avid golfer and member of the Meadowbrook Country Club.

Webster loved taking care of his home, lawn and garden. Most of all he enjoyed entertaining, sitting around the fireplace with family and friends.

He will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his wife; four children, William C. (Judy) Weiss of Menasha, Michael W. (Carol) Weiss of DePere, Margaret Tripp (fiance Stan Tabasco) of Pueblo, Colo., John W. (Amy) Weiss of Green Bay; a son-in-law, Robert Tripp of Los Angeles, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Charles (Dorothy) Walter of Eau Claire and Earl Berger of Green Bay; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many dear friends.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Hazel (Oliver) Herman and Ethel (Ray) Umbs; and his parents-in-law, Charles and Katherine Walter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, March 16, at St. Joseph Church, 1533 Erie St.
Rev. Richard J. Stoffel and Rev. Robert Enders will concelebrate, and private interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Allenton.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the Maresh-Meredith and Acklam Funeral Home, Racine, on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Catherine's High School have been suggested by the family.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. DeCheck, Dr. Short and the staff at St. Mary's Medical Center for their compassionate care.
