Peter Martin ALvestad, 74, of Gig Harbor, died Friday at his home. born in Alvestad, Norway, he came to this country in 1907 and to Gig Harbor two years later. He was a charter member of the Peninsula Lutheran Church and a member of John Paul Jones Lodge No. 271, F&AM. He was a retired member of the Peninsula Light Co. Board.

Survivors include two sons, Paul C. and Ben K., both of Gig Harbor; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Goldman of Gig Harbor and Mrs. Helen Bird of Seattle; a brother, Klaus Alvestad of Gig Harbor; a sister Mrs. Gertude [Olsen of Norway, and eight] grandchildren.
