JACOB LIESENFELDER DEAD

Succombs to Pneumonia at Home in the Town of Trenton.

Jacob Liesenfelder died at his home in the town of Trenton on Thursday, March 21, 1912, his death being due to an attack of pneumonia.

The deceased was born in Germany on May 4, 1845, and came to this country with his parents in 1848. The family settled in the town of Germantown. Mr. Liesenfelder was married to Francis Stellflug on Nov. 15, 1871, and they continued to reside in Germantown until the year 1905, when they moved to the town of Trenton. Their union was blessed with seven children, of whom one son and one daughter preceded the father in death. Those surviving are: Sophia (Mrs. Andrew Herman) of Jackson; Peter residing on the homestead in Germantown; Jacob of Barton, Herman of Laona, Forest county, Wis. and Andrew of Milwaukee. One adopted daughter, Marie, (Mrs. Frank Winninghoff) of Jackson, also survives.

The funeral was held last Monday morning from the residence to the St. Mary's Catholic church at Barton; interment took place on the cemetery of that congregation. Rev. Ruhmann officiated.

Biography* Degner: In the marriage record, both of Maria's parents were indicated as being deceased and her brother-in-law Johann Peter Roos signed for her parents. The document indicates she had two children previous to this marriage. It does not give a previous husband's name or the children's names. They were married on March 5, 1825 and she, her new husband Johann Georg Faber, Johann Georg's father Valentin, her brother-in-law Johann Peter Roos and two witnesses signed the document.1

It does say that Maria had two previous children before her marriage to Johann Georg, their names are not given. It lists their parents and deaths of Maria's parents. A brother-in-law to Maria, Johann Peter Roos, signed for the parents along with Valentin Faber, the bridal pair and two other witnesses.
