Mrs. Cleo Moore, 83, widow of W.L. Moore, died at her home in Greensboro Wednesday [Jan. 31, 1962]. She was a former resident of Spartanburg but had lived in Greensboro for the past eight years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro and a former member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Surviving are: 2 daughters, Mrs. O.P. Price of Greensboro, Mrs. T.L. Dickens of Richmond, Va; two sisters, Mrs. F.J. Rickman of Easley, & Mrs. George Martin of Newberry; 4 grandchildren; 5-great-grandchildren.
A brief service will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at the Lambeth Troxler Funeral Home in Greensboro by Dr. Claude Bowen.

Obit: In Memoriam. Mrs. Eliza Kinney Hubbard was born in Mount Morris, N.Y. September 15th 1826. Soon after her marriage she came to Wisconsin and settled in the [?] East Troy in 1845, where she lived about two years and then moved to the town of Troy where she has since resided, with the exception of five years spent in the village of East Troy, after the death of her husband in 1887. She met with a severe accident in falling and breaking her hp Dec. 30th last and since then she has been a patient sufferer until she was called hom Feb. 10, 1903. She was ever a king and loving mother and friend to all who knew her, was often heard to say she only wished to be remembered by what she had done." She united with the M.E. church when a young lady. After coming here she attended the Congregational church. She was the mother of seven children, one daughter having died in childhood, and leaves to mourn her death four sons, two duaghters, four sisters, one borther, besides a number of grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. She has lived a retired life for many years being quite an invalid.
The funeral was held at the home of her daughter in Troy (where she lived the past nine years) last Friday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. Jos. Herbert and wife, of East Troy, and were well attended by many friends and neighbors, who followed the remains to their last resting place at Evergreen cemetery on the Quarterline.1,5,2,4 |
