Mrs. Peter Skramstad Dies at 82

Mrs. Peter (Bertha) Skramstad, formerly of Fergus Falls, died this morning at Centralia, Wash., She was 82 years old.

Since 1964 Mrs. Skramstad had made her home at Centralia with a daughter, Mrs. W.A. (Gudrun) Tomes.

She was born at Hedemarken, Norway, Jan 25, 1884. In Fergus Falls she was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Besides her daughter she leaves a son, Thorvald of Centalia, a brother, Ole N. Nelson of Fergus Falls, a sister, Mrs. Helena Pederson in Norway, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her husband died Sept 18, 1962.

The funeral will be held at the Bethlehem Lutheran church Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Otto Dale officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. the body will arrive at the Glende-Johnson Funeral Home Friday noon.¹¹

Ole Jacobson

Ole Jacobson was born to Ole Friswold and wife Olava in Foldalen, Norway on May 14, 1866. At the age of 12, with his parents, brothers and sisters,
he came to America settling in Spring Lake.

On May 5, 1891 he was united in marriage to Thora Thompson, the young couple setting up housekeeping at Glenwood City, where they resided for nine years, then moving onto their farm in Spring Lake which has since been their home.

On May 5, 1946 they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary but due to his wife's illness, only nearest relatives were present. The following
June 25th his wife passed away. The three oldest children also preceded him in death. The four surviving children are: Olga (Mrs. Carl Magnusen,
Minneapolis; Lenora, (Mrs. Arthur Jacobson) Phillip and Orval, all of Spring Lake. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Anna Stein, Los Angeles, CA.,
and Marie Friswold, Colorado Springs, CO; five grand children and 3 great grand children, several nieces and nephews and a host of more distant relatives.

Mr. Jacobson was a faithful member of the Spring Lake Lutheran Church. He also served as a member of the Brookside School Board for many years
as well as on Town Board, and also Town Treasurer for several years. Since the death of his wife he has lived with his son, Orval, on the home
place. He has been in declining health for the past several years. He passed away on Saturday, July 25th at the age of 87 years, 2 months, 11 days.

The funeral services were held from the Spring Lake Lutheran Church July 28, 1953, Rev. C. Smeby officiating. Burial took place in Spring Lake Lutheran
Cemetery.
